Job description
If you enjoy the buzz of building something - but don't fancy starting from a blank sheet of paper with no brokers, no brand and no support - this will likely appeal.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of an evolving D&O product within an established Financial Lines team, inside a successful MGA that already has:
- Strong Financial Lines credentials
- A wide, existing broker distribution map
- The backing and reach of a larger, highly entrepreneurial insurance group
You're not being asked to "go it alone" and build a business from your spare room. You're joining a set-up that already trades well - and leading their push to grow and deepen D&O across a core, existing broker panel.
What you'll be doing
- Owning and driving the D&O strategy within an established Financial Lines team.
- Growing D&O profitably across an existing national broker network - not spending your first year just trying to get on panels.
- Working closely with colleagues across Financial Lines to refine appetite, pricing and wordings for SME & mid-market D&O.
- Being a visible market presence - meeting key brokers, developing trading relationships and supporting the wider proposition.
- Over time, helping to build and shape a small team around you, sitting at the top of this product line.
Who we're looking for
Background is flexible - mindset isn't.
- You'll likely be an experienced Financial Lines / D&O Underwriter, or a Broker / Account Executive with strong D&O exposure who wants to move into underwriting.
- You're commercially minded, comfortable talking numbers, and enjoy being out with brokers rather than buried in admin.
- You like autonomy, but you also value having proper support, capacity and a recognised brand behind you.
- You're proactive, credible with the market, and enjoy taking ownership for growth rather than waiting for instructions.
What's on offer?
- A genuinely entrepreneurial environment backed by an established, well-capitalised group.
- The chance to sit at the top of the D&O product line within an established Financial Lines function.
- Real influence over how the product evolves - with a clear opportunity to build and lead a team as things scale.
- Remote or hybrid working - you can be based anywhere in the UK.
- Competitive salary (with flexibility for the right person) plus a results-driven bonus and strong wider package.
If you'd like to be trusted to grow something meaningful - without having to worry about whether there's any capacity, systems or broker relationships behind you - this is worth a conversation.
