Insurance Scheme Underwriter

Job description

Some insurance people enjoy broking. Some prefer underwriting work.

And if you sit on the fence, there is a brilliant way to combine both parts of insurance which is joining a brokerage who operate a scheme under a delegated authority.

By doing so, you get all the benefits of a broking office which is the variety, pace and scope to progress your career but still keep a handle on the decision making you get with an insurer.

Here you'll be working for one of the East Coast's best regarded broking houses where you'll manage new and exiting clients under a specialist property-based insurance scheme.

In this non-sales role, you'll analyse and underwrite new scheme entrants using a range of set criteria in addition to handling the service and renewal of existing clientele.

You'll work closely with the scheme provider and enjoy building a strategic relationship with the relevant market contacts.

It's a smaller team here, the type of environment where the pace is fast and you'll get exposure to lots of other work including clients, operations and some compliance management.

Ideally suited if you like a remit where no two days will be the same and you can carve out a working week which will see you make the very best use of your skills.

Ideally, you'll be based in or around the Edinburgh region and have a background in the general insurance sector form either a broker or insurance company.

You can work hybrid or office based, just whatever suits you best.

And don't worry if your CV isn't up to date, I can help you with that.
