International Casualty Broker

Job description

We are seeking an ambitious and collaborative Broker to join an established international casualty team, playing a key role in delivering innovative solutions for clients whilst driving new business growth. This role offers a blend of broking, business development and client relationship management, with the opportunity to work with a wide network of colleagues, the London Market, Lloyd's and a diverse portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities

Broking

  • Develop a strong understanding of clients' businesses, risks, opportunities and challenges
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external market relationships
  • Work with colleagues to structure and price tailored insurance solutions
  • Design programmes, identify suitable markets and support placement strategies
  • Negotiate placements across Lloyd's and company markets
  • Develop skills in conceptual programme design and pricing models
  • Build knowledge of analytics, including model sensitivity analysis and the impact of primary and secondary modifiers
  • Develop understanding of client wordings and contracts to negotiate coverage effectively

Business Development

  • Support the full sales process to secure, retain and grow profitable client relationships
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospects
  • Respond promptly to new business opportunities and introductions
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities and collaborate with colleagues to maximise growth

Client Relationship Management

  • Understand client needs and deliver tailored risk and service solutions
  • Identify opportunities to add value through analytics in the placement process
  • Provide technical and industry expertise to support both broking and analytical client needs
  • Build trusted client relationships and identify opportunities for portfolio growth
  • Support the development of pricing, placement and programme strategies

Skills and Experience Required

  • 2-4 years' London insurance Broker/market experience
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Commercial awareness and a strong interest in business development
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and markets
  • Analytical mindset with willingness to learn technical concepts
