The Opportunity Are you a science enthusiast with a keen legal mind? Do you crave the challenge of complex patent litigation? This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge matters at the forefront of the life sciences sector. You will gain invaluable experience working alongside leading practitioners on all stages of the litigation process, from pre-action strategy to trial and appeal.
What You'll Do Craft and file key legal documents like claim forms, particulars of claim, and defences. Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare insightful memoranda on intricate legal and scientific issues. Collaborate with partners and senior associates to develop winning case strategies and prepare for litigation. Manage electronic discovery and disclosure processes efficiently. Actively participate in client meetings, absorbing instructions and ensuring clear communication. Establish strong relationships with expert witnesses, leveraging their knowledge for the case. As experience grows, contribute to court hearings and potentially participate in trial proceedings.
Who You Are
A qualified solicitor or patent attorney in the UK (or eligible to qualify soon). 0-5 years PQE with a demonstrated passion for life sciences patent litigation. Possess a strong academic background in a scientific field or a closely related discipline. Communicate flawlessly, both in writing and verbally, with exceptional legal drafting skills. Thrive in a collaborative environment while demonstrating the ability to work independently. A master of organisation with a meticulous eye for detail. A self-motivated individual with a positive and proactive approach.
