Our client, a leading London Market Insurer, is looking for an experienced Operations Accountant to join their business. The role will take responsibility for the various functions of the general ledger, and work closely with both offshore colleagues to ensure that accounts payable and expense management deliverable are timely and accurate and that the onshore team is exercising due oversight thereon.

Other duties will include:

• Review accounts payable deliverable to ensure accuracy and quality of work
• Work closely with the Finance Administrator and offshore accounts payable team to ensure accounts payable deliverable are met
• Resolving outstanding invoicing queries in a timely manner and ensuring the accuracy of coding of manual payments
• Assisting with the submission and review of manual and BAC's payments
• Support the administration of the general ledger
• Prepare various quarterly or annual reporting including commentary and KPI's
• Scope to make decisions on detailed aspects of the work, subject to the review and agreement of the Finance Operations Manager

To be considered for this role, you must have the following experience:

• Experience within financial operations, including accounts payable and expense management, with a sound understanding of finance systems
• Experience within the commercial insurance sector (and the Lloyd's market) is preferred
• Experience preparing management accounting information
• Track record of process improvement and delivery
• Part-qualified or qualified ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) preferred
