Senior Client Director

Job description

One of the best opportunities to come to the agricultural insurance market in Scotland.

This is a business who's portfolio has been carefully built over years - in some cases, decades - of genuine relationships with some of Scotland's most significant agricultural businesses.

Multi-million pound premium accounts. Complex risk profiles. Clients who expect to pick up the phone and speak to someone who actually understands what they do, why it matters, and what keeps them awake at night when the forecast looks wrong.

The organisation behind this role is a major force in the UK broking market with deep, authentic roots in the agricultural sector. This isn't a vertical bolted on for commercial reasons - it's core to who they are.

And as the farming landscape evolves - from weather volatility and regulatory change to succession planning and alternative land use - the advice their clients need is becoming more sophisticated, not less.

That's why this role exists at the senior executive level.

What you'll actually be doing

  • Taking ownership of a prestigious book of agricultural clients across Scotland - trophy accounts with long-standing relationships and high expectations
  • Acting as the trusted senior advisor on complex risk, coverage strategy, and market placement for clients with substantial and often diverse operations
  • Sitting at the senior leadership table - contributing to strategy, market positioning, and the wider direction of the agricultural practice
  • Representing the firm at the highest level across the client community, farming sector bodies, and industry events
  • Mentoring and influencing the wider team - this is a role that sets the standard, not just meets it

Who they're looking for

You'll be a credible, established senior figure in the agricultural insurance market.

Scotland-based, and genuinely embedded in the sector - you know the land, the clients, and the nuances of farm insurance that only come from years of hands-on experience.

You'll be equally at home in a client boardroom, at a rural estate, or in a leadership conversation. Technically sharp. Commercially astute. Someone who builds trust with farmers and finance directors in equal measure.

A Cert CII or higher is expected. But honestly, your track record will do most of the talking.

The package

Base salary of £65,000 - £100,000, shaped by your experience and what you bring to the table.

Beyond that - car allowance, performance bonus, and potential equity participation for the right candidate.

This is a senior hire and the package reflects that.

If this looks like the next step in your executive journey, get in touch.
