£60,000 - £70,000 + company car

A well-known Insurer has an exciting new opportunity for a new business focused Underwriter to join their team in the East region, on a working from home basis.

Working closely with a Business Development Manager, the main purpose of the role will be to reignite relationships with underdeveloped insurance Brokers in the region as well as develop new ones and ultimately write more business. The typical risk appetite of the Insurer is mid-market Property and Casualty business between £20k and £100k GWP and the Broker appetite is the Nationals and large Independents. The Development Underwriter will be expected to be out visiting Brokers 2 days per week and virtual meetings will also form part of the role. As a senior member of the team, the successful individual will also act as an underwriting referral point to more junior members and help coach them.

The business is looking for a self-motivated, driven individual able to work independently and existing market relationships in the region would be ideal. Commercial Combined, Property and/or Casualty underwriting experience is a pre-requisite, as is experience developing new Broker relationships.
