Are you a senior insurance professional ready to take on a strategic leadership role with broad impact? Whether your background is underwriting, broking, or leading enterprise-level client relationships, this is an opportunity to step into a pivotal position shaping the direction of a leading Captive & Insurance Company Management business.
We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Insurance Director to join the leadership team in Guernsey. You will work closely with the Managing Director to define and execute strategic goals, drive operational excellence, and oversee high-performing client service teams across commercial, reinsurance, and ILS portfolios.
This role is ideal for leaders who are accustomed to managing complex insurance environments and now want broader influence, board exposure, and the chance to help shape the future of an expanding business.


What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading, motivating, and developing teams to deliver against business objectives, building capability and supporting succession planning.
  • Ensuring exceptional client service standards across all portfolios while fostering strong collaboration and a unified team culture.
  • Structuring and developing client service teams to meet all regulatory, client, and internal requirements.
  • Working with senior leaders to allocate resources effectively across complex and diverse client needs.
  • Contributing to strategic direction as a future board member (subject to performance).
  • Supporting high-level fee discussions and negotiations across internal departments and international offices.
  • Balancing client profitability with appropriate resourcing levels to maintain market-leading service delivery.
  • Building strong relationships with senior functional leaders and global service centre teams.


What We're Looking For

  • ACII (or equivalent) required; additional leadership or governance qualifications (MBA, IoD Diploma) are beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong technical knowledge of insurance and reinsurance, with strategic understanding of related accounting, legal, and tax considerations.
  • Proven experience leading high-value teams, delivering custom solutions, and managing significant client portfolios.
  • Strong change-management capability-able to turn strategy into action.
  • A client-centric mindset with a track record of delivering outstanding service within commercial parameters.
