Casualty Underwriter

Job description

This newly created Underwriting position based in the City Centre of Glasgow is seeking an experienced individual to join a growing team.

You will be responsible for Underwriting profitable New Business and seeking growth on Renewals, developing relationships with Brokers, building out strong client relationships all while working towards agreed strategies.

Further information about the role:

  • Prepare bespoke policy documentation for review by Senior Underwriters.
  • Maintain focus on industry practices, developments and pricing.
  • Produce accurate and timely management information for senior management.
  • Develop a profitable book of business through a selection of brokers.
  • Make informed underwriting decisions within the authority delegated.
  • Comply with key regulatory and risk management responsibilities.
  • Implement underwriting policies, practices and procedures.

Ideally, you'll have a proficient knowledge of casualty principles and practice alongside a strong understanding of Liability products. Combine this with good risk analysis, technical skills and a proven ability to work within a team framework and you could be considered a strong candidate for this position.
