Job description

An IFA opportunity has arisen to join a Financial Planning Business in Blackburn. This firm is ready to grow but requires further capacity to facilitate this. The successful candidate will work as part of the financial planning team providing an excellent service to clients in accordance with the firm's values, procedures, prevailing legislation and good professional practice so as to meet or exceed clients' expectations and needs.

This is an ideal opportunity for either a well-established financial adviser or someone who has some initial experience working as a financial adviser.

What the role involves

  • You will be a part of the financial planning team providing an excellent financial planning service to a large range of private clients, business owners and corporate clients.
  • Help create accurate and compliant Financial Planning reports with the assistance of a Paraplanner.
  • Offer a great ongoing service to clients. You will be there for the clients when they need you. You will be proactive in terms of client communications. You will respond to prospective customers on planning-related queries.
  • Opportunity to support our business development initiatives such as seminars, presentations and networking. You will be encouraged to drive new business forwards and assist with the firms business development plans.
  • Assist in the development plans for the company.
  • Offer subject matter expertise to fellow Advisers.
  • Maintain awareness of the latest legislative changes that may affect planning.
  • You will form part of their T&C scheme and will be required to maintain an up to date SPS.
  • Have a sound technical knowledge, ability to ensure compliant files and provide holistic financial planning options and advice.

Your development

  • They will provide a study package towards the Chartered or Fellowship qualification, including study leave and mentoring through your qualification journey.
  • They also provide a complementary range of training opportunities to ensure that you maximise your potential in areas such as becoming a trusted adviser, how to network, presentation skills etc with opportunities for progression within the Financial Planning team or wider practice.
  • We also encourage you to get involved in project work and wider firm initiatives and have your say on how they can progress on their journey towards being the best North West firm of finance professionals.

  • Great at communicating with people at all levels.
  • Positive, emotionally aware and resilient.
  • Good at using your initiative, solving problems and working under pressure.
  • Motivated and well organised.
  • A good networker.
  • Have good organisational skills as well as the ability to take initiative and contribute to the effective running of the department.
  • Have a Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning and working towards CII Chartered status.
  • Experience in an advising role
  • Have an appetite to build and develop a client bank with support from the team and practice.
  • Comfortable working towards team and personal objectives
