Media & Entertainment Associate

An international law firm is seeking a junior associate to join its market-leading Entertainment & Media team in London.


The team advises some of the world's most high-profile clients across music, video games & e-sports, film & TV, advertising, technology, sport, and social media, acting as trusted counsel on both contentious and non-contentious matters.


Recognised as a Tier 1 practice across multiple directories, the group is known for being "commercially astute, extremely efficient and knowledgeable" and works on matters ranging from complex commercial deals and IP licensing to media finance, regulatory advice, and emerging technologies (including generative AI).


The role
We are looking for a lawyer with 2-4 years' PQE and proven experience in media and entertainment transactional work. The ideal candidate will have expertise in drafting/negotiating commercial contracts and advising on copyright, licensing, assignments, and media regulatory issues.
Previous experience may include:

  • Production, distribution, licensing and acquisition of rights in music, film/TV and/or video games
  • Advising on copyright, e-commerce, consumer, advertising, or generative AI matters


The opportunity
This is an excellent role for a junior associate looking to take on greater responsibility and gain direct client exposure from day one, working closely with leading partners in the sector. You'll be advising a diverse client base including record labels, digital service providers, social media platforms, video games companies, film/TV producers, luxury fashion brands, and financial institutions.


Candidate profile

  • 2-4 years' PQE in entertainment & media law
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and commercial skills
  • Demonstrates initiative, enthusiasm, and commercial awareness
  • Confident in building relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Keen to engage in business development and networking
