Senior Analyst

We've been retained for a search on behalf of a global law firm who have appointed a global head to launch a regulatory consulting practice as part of the firms wider offering - the team advise the law firms regulated clients (PRA / FCA) clients globally in all thematic areas. The practice has ambitious growth plans in major hubs such as London, New York, Singapore, Dubai and Sydney however have an immediate need to hire a Senior Analyst or Consultant to join their Regulatory Consulting Team in London to focus on working with their existing, and rapidly growing client base who range from financial services, wealth management and insurance.


The team is dynamic and at an early stage of development, allowing the role holder the opportunity to gain exposure to a vast and varied range of work and to be a shaping presence in the development of this 'young' business, which was established in 2019.


This is a key project delivery role where you will be responsible for supporting and delivering assigned elements of client work, as well as assisting with technical research and the production of technical materials. You will also participate more generally in the development and growth of the team whilst actively contributing to team utilisation targets.


Main responsibilities will include supporting colleagues on a wide range of regulatory projects areas across multiple sub-sectors of the financial services market, such as preparing for and implementing regulatory change, preparation of applications for firms to become regulated by the FCA and PRA, fund applications, variations of permissions, regulatory due diligence, ongoing regulatory compliance support, provision of outsourced compliance and internal audit services, regulatory health-checks and assurance, and conduct and culture evaluations.


You will have;

  • Regulatory-related experience gained at a financial services institution, legal practice, consultancy or the regulator
  • Professionally qualified in regulation to Level 4 or equivalent or willing to study towards it
  • A good general understanding of FCA rules and regulations
  • A particular interest in developing knowledge of governance requirements and conduct issues affecting anyone of the following sectors: wealth, banking, insurance, pensions, consumer lending or other regulated sub-sectors
