Claims Executive

Do you have previous Marine/P&I Claims experience or are you currently working within the Maritime Industry?!

Our client is looking for a Senior Claims Executive to join their already successful team. In this exciting role, you'll be responsible for handling many different P&I claims, including those that are more difficult and complex, from notification to completion within the authority levels as stipulated, thereby supporting our strategic vision of being a world leading marine insurance group, providing the highest quality of cost-effective service.

The role will involve;

  • Following the P&I Rules and maintaining files and reports, with accurate, detailed and timely information /documents.
  • Acknowledging receipt and properly handle claims and enquiries, consulting with Members throughout.
  • You will develop relations with Members and Brokers and to handle claims appropriately and cost effectively.
  • Issuing security and guarantees, always within authority limits and subject to Members' approval.
  • You will carry out file audits as required and work closely with Loss Prevention on claims, Member reviews and as the condition of entered vessels and the performance of crew requirement.
  • Involving FD&D in a timely manner in relevant cases and also inform the Underwriting Department of any unusual risks detected.

You will have;

  • The successful individual will have previous experience handling Marine Claims, ideally P & I Claims… or previous experience working within the Maritime industry whether that be for a ship owner, operator / trader.
  • Ideally you will have a relevant degree level qualification or equivalent (e.g. maritime studies/ law degree)
  • Being a team player is hugely important to the business as is providing an excellent level of service to their members.
  • The ability to build long lasting relationships to members and colleagues is vital.
