Job description
If you've ever thought, "I'd love to join a smaller, growing team where my ideas actually matter" - this could be exactly that.
This is an opportunity to join a boutique commercial insurance brokerage in Edinburgh, working directly with an experienced and entrepreneurial leader who's building a high-performing team from the ground up.
It's not a corporate machine. No endless meetings. No red tape. Just good people doing quality work for clients who value their broker relationships.
The Role
You'll join a small, tight-knit team supporting a portfolio of commercial clients - varied in nature, typically within the SME and mid-market space.
- Handle all aspects of client servicing: renewals, MTAs, and day-to-day client queries
- Work across a mix of commercial sectors, including property, liability, motor fleet, and package risks
- Support placement and broking activity using Acturis
- Collaborate closely with the lead broker on new business and retention projects
- Provide technical and administrative support, ensuring a professional and responsive service to clients and insurers alike
You'll be trusted to work largely from home, with occasional office time in their central Edinburgh base for team collaboration or client meetings.
About You
- You're an experienced Commercial Account Handler or Broker with solid all-round commercial knowledge
- You enjoy being hands-on and part of a smaller, agile team where your input is noticed
- You're comfortable managing your own workload and communicating directly with clients and insurers
- Experience using Acturis is ideal
- You value autonomy, flexibility, and being part of something that's growing - not something that's already built
The Business
This isn't a large corporate with rigid processes - it's a growing, entrepreneurial brokerage where decisions are made quickly and good ideas are encouraged. The team is ambitious, client-focused, and relationship-led, offering a more personal, collaborative culture than you'll find in most large firms.
They're building momentum fast and want someone who enjoys being part of that journey - shaping how things are done rather than following what's already written.
The Offer
- Salary up to £40,000 (depending on experience)
- Hybrid / home-based role with minimal office commitment
- Excellent support from an experienced leadership team
- Genuine progression opportunity as the team continues to grow
